Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of tax preparation experience, a general understanding of t-ax laws and regulations, attention to detail, and a team mindset. As a Senior Tax Preparer, you will play a crucial role in working with the Partners in assisting clients in achieving their financial goals by providing comprehensive tax planning, preparation, and advisory services.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant tax filings for clients.
Advise clients on tax planning, deductions, and credits to minimize their tax liability while maintaining compliance.
Conduct research on specific tax issues and provide recommendations to clients and colleagues.
Review and mentor junior tax preparers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Assist in resolving tax-related issues and disputes on behalf of clients.
Maintain accurate and organized client records and files.
Collaborate with other members of the MK team to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to client services.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus).
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a tax preparer, with a proven track record of handling complex tax matters.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intuit ProConnect, CCH Axcess, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and commitment to client confidentiality.

Qualifications

Moving towards Certifications such as Enrolled Agent or CPA.
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
